Following The Suffering King H

Commencing 21st January at our 10AM Services

These final chapters of Matthew gospel record the suffering, death, resurrection and great commission of Jesus. They give us a intimate glimpse into the suffering king. In chapter 19-25 the disciples were learning what it looked like to follow a rejected king as Jesus faced increasing opposition. In these chapters the disciples must learn what it looks like to follow a suffering king and especially the significance of those sufferings in God’s plan to gather a royal family from all peoples on earth. My prayer as we take a slow journey through the passion narrative is that we might grow in fresh understanding and appreciation of our suffering king who suffered alone to accomplish what he alone could do.
